International students must apply for study permit Canada issued by the IRCC to study in Canada. This permit and a student visa allow them to enter and then stay in Canada for study.
A study permit is required in almost all study cases except if you are appearing for preschool, attending a complete distance learning program, taking non-academic/non-professional courses, or taking a course that is six months or less in duration.

Your study permit usually lasts until the length of your study program and 90 extra days. These additional days allow you to either extend your stay or leave Canada. The study permit extension time is usually between 1 – 2 months. You may apply for a study permit extension to stay and study in Canada if you fall under one of these situations:
A Study permit gives you permission to stay in Canada, but you would need a visitor visa or an eTA to enter the country, also known as a student visa in Canada.
If you’re applying for a study permit/Study Permit Extension, a separate student visa application is not necessary. You’ll be automatically asked to submit your passport and will be granted a study visa once your study permit is approved.

Yes, you can take your family to Canada on a student visa. Your spouse or common-law partner and dependent children eligible for a study/work permit or visitor visa can accompany you to Canada. You must tag their application when you apply for your study permit.
The September or fall intake is Canada’s best and most widely preferred semester. Generally, the application window opens for students in December until March. The top universities open slots for their complete and popular courses in this intake.
If the immigration officer believes that the financial support is insufficient, then that may become teh reason to deny the visa application. Further, any missing documents or errors may result in the denial of the application. Make sure you have enough funds and all the documents are accurate.
